Home Equity in Retirement – A Special Seminar January 24
Home is where the heart is, and for many Canadians, home is where they want to stay. There are many reasons people want to stay put in their homes during retirement. Just off the top of my head, I can list: nostalgia for the good times enjoyed there; a place for the grown children to visit with grandkids; the love you have for your familiar, friendly neighbours, the cost of a smaller home seeming out of proportion to the size of it, and so on. In fact, there are probably almost as many reasons as there are people.
However, as recent studies have pointed out, outside of the house they own, many Canadians have not saved as much as they need for retirement. There is a way to stay in your home and still access the equity in it to supplement your RRSP and TFSA. What’s more, it’s a very attractive alternative to a reverse mortgage.
For a different view on real estate as a tax-free savings investment, join me for a special seminar Tuesday, January 24 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at The Heintzman House at 135 Bay Thorn Dr, Thornhill.
A home equity consultant will be my special guest.
Seating is limited. Reserve your place today with Marylou Heenan by calling 416-939-2000 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
